See the Coral Coast properly in one well-paced day. Sand Dunes National Park, the historic Tavuni Hill Fort, Sigatoka village & market, and a real Fijian lunch. The most complete tour in the area — and significantly cheaper than booking each stop separately.
Each stop on its own would justify a half-day tour. Combined into one well-paced 9-hour day, this is the best way to truly understand the Coral Coast — its geology, history, culture and food, all in genuine local context.
Morning visit to Fiji's first national park. 60-metre parabolic dunes, 2,600-year-old archaeology, panoramic views. The cool morning is the best time — beats the midday heat.
1700s mountain stronghold built by Tongan warrior chief Maile Latemai. Climb (moderate, 15 min) to 360° views over Sigatoka Valley, the river, and the south coast. Genuine pre-colonial Fijian history.
Walk through Sigatoka town — Fiji's "Salad Bowl" — and the colourful Sigatoka Market. Fresh tropical fruit, handicrafts, kava root, traditional cloth (masi). Bring small Fijian dollars for shopping.
Lunch with a Fijian family in their village — kokoda, palusami, fresh fish or curry, fruit. Eat together cross-legged in a bure. Authentic, generous, and warm. Vegetarian and dietary requests easily accommodated.
Times are approximate — we run on Fiji time, with breaks built in. The pace is genuinely relaxed but covers everything.
Air-conditioned vehicle collects you. Quick stop at a scenic lookout en route. Morning tea provided in the vehicle. Pickup time adjusts based on hotel location.
1.5 hours at the National Park. Visitor centre, museum, then the 1-hour loop trail with dune climb. Spectacular ocean views and the famous fruit bat colony in the trees near the trail end.
Drive to Tavuni (20 min). Walk up to the fortified summit (15 min, moderate). Tour the historic site, hear the story of Maile Latemai's 1700s mountain stronghold. Take in the 360° views.
Drive to a real Fijian village (15 min). Welcome from the family, then a generous traditional lunch eaten cross-legged on woven mats. Time to ask questions and chat with the village family.
Quick stop in Sigatoka town and the colourful market. 30 minutes browsing. Then scenic drive back along the Coral Coast — drop-off at your hotel by 5:30pm-6pm.

It's a long full day with multiple environments — dunes, fort climb, village, market. Pack light but smart.
You'll be on your feet for several segments. Trainers or comfortable walking shoes essential. Avoid sandals.
Limited shade on the dunes and at the Hill Fort. Wide-brimmed hat ideal. Sunglasses essential.
For the Sigatoka Market — handicrafts, tropical fruit, souvenirs. AU$50-100 worth in FJD covers everything you'll want.
We provide bottled water all day. Bringing your own reusable bottle helps reduce waste.
Spectacular photo opportunities — dune lookout, Hill Fort views, market colours. Always ask before photographing villagers.
Shoulders and knees covered when entering the village (lunch stop). Light cover-up or sulu wrap works fine. We can lend a sulu if needed.
